How is it used? -
The user creates flipcharts and utilizes numerous tools on the toolbar such as pens, highlighters, and shapes to record annotations. The annotations can be recorded over Microsoft Word documents, Excel spreadsheets and PowerPoint presentations and then stored in the office document. The program also allows annotations to be written over other applications, live video clips and Web Browser content.

The ActivInspire program allows administrators to record anecdotal information of a variety of data collection tools. Tools such as Verbal Flow, At Task, Class Traffic and/or Interaction Analysis can be used with the program. Seating charts or classroom maps could be created in a flipchart or word document and then annotations could be made over them to show information agreed upon on during a pre-conference. The document could then be added to any observation or evaluation form to give teachers actual feedback of classroom interactions. Administrators using video clips during the post observation conference can use annotations to foster the reflection process. ActivInspire is on the network so all FCPS computers have access. During the post observation conference with teachers, administrators can suggest the use of ActivInspire for teachers to enhance instruction with students. Many resources exist to offers teachers ways to increase student engagement.
